Groove is their mission; music is their vehicle. Winners of the 2021 Music NB awards for both Breakthrough Artist of the Year and Video of the Year for their single Paper Boat, this 7-piece all-Acadian heavy soul band released a debut self-titled album in 2021 and are well on their way to reaching other galaxies with their celestial soundscapes. Fans of soul, jazz, hip-hop, and metal will be captivated by this band of groovy cosmonauts, who blend catchy grooves with ambient interstellar jams. Whichever universe you call home, there is bound to be an element of their sound that will capture your heart and prepare you for blast-off. Grid City Magazine described their debut album as “a winning combination of thick grooves, poetic lyricism and originality.” The launch of their first studio album, Les Moontunes, was celebrated with Live on the Moon, an innovative live-stream concert that reached over 20,000 viewers, loaded with impressive musicianship and out-of-this-world animations. Since their 2015 formation in Moncton, NB, Les Moontunes have performed at numerous festivals in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, including the Halifax Jazz Festival, le Congrès Mondial Acadien, Acadie Rock, Music NB's Festival 506, and the East Coast Music Association's Breakout stage showcase which has solidified the band's status as an innovative act within the East Coast music scene. The group’s much anticipated second album is set to release in early 2024, with singles to be released in fall 2023, and will display an expanded sonic palette accompanied by new levels of originality and maturity in their music.
